CyberSampler I
Samplers done in the 16th and 17th centuries were usually a collection of alphabets, patterns and borders.
Before books were available, the sampler was the device used to keep records so that these patterns, borders and letters could be used at any time to embellish all manner of other items. Over time, the role of the sampler changed from one of a pure reference and record keeping piece to a fine art piece to be hung on the wall and admired.
CyberSampler I was named because the 112 letters, 20 numbers, 30 patterns, and 10 borders are actually based on the pixel alphabets and fill patterns used in the original MacPaint program.The various stitch patterns can be seen in our Cross Stitch Pattern Collection 1.

You'll see that this is a fairly large piece (288 x 440 stitches) which is 20.6 in by 30.4 in on 14 count Aida, and on 18-count works out to 16x24.5 inches, plus you'll want some border margin. The one in the photo was stitched on 14 count aida.
