Daisy Bees Closet Hanger Project
Stitch this closet hanger cover which borrows design elements from our Poppy Vest. The pdf chart (see below) calls for a dark salmon background and should print at 12 stitches per inch at 100% size from adobe reader.
Instructions
This project should provide a result you can actually use in your closet, rather than just taking space. The example finished project shown below was stitched in different colors than our chart calls for; feel free to modify to your liking. Click Here to get the pdf chart.
Use 12 count interlock canvas and two ply of Persian Yarn (we list Paternayan colors below). Allow a one inch border outside of the design for finishing. Choose your hanger first and adjust the outside border to match. The charts are 12 stitches/inch so if you piece the pages together, it should provide a guide to compare with your hanger. Be sure to add enough canvas outside and several stitches for finishing.
Since any given canvas is generally not exactly 12 holes per inch, you may need to make some adjustments to the size. Check your canvas and adjust as necessary. This is always an issue when combining counted with measured parts in a project. Note some canvases may not be the same mesh size horizontally and vertically.
To finish, you can add a fabric back and leave the bottom (and of course a slit at the top for the hook) open to use on any hanger, or you can enclose a wood hanger form inside the front and back.
